I have played cricket all my life from the age of three; highlight was playing for the Bank Region with John Proud in Sussex [on their county ground]. First came to Harrogate CC as a junior and remember watching some massive games there; including an international women’s test match in the 70’s. Have two sons; James and Tom who play for the senior sides. Jemima my daughter has scored many games and wife Susan is a cricket widow. I Have been a coach since 2005 and on the board since 2006. I am an absolute cricket nut and am passionate about HCC.
Deputy Chair & Assistant Director of Cricket
George is responsible for overseeing various different aspects of the running of the club. He is particularly involved with running senior, junior and womens’ cricket and developing the strategy for the running of the club. George also captains the second team and has played for the club since 2005. His favourite cricketing memory is watching England win the world cup final at Lords.
Duncan is responsible for overseeing the administration of the club. The role of secretary encompasses many tasks and without him the club would not function. Duncan has a life long love of cricket. His son, Peter, was a talented junior player. Duncan’s fondest memories are watching the first team win the league in 2016 and watching many great junior victories of his many years involved with the club.
Andrew Campbell QC
Andrew is club President and has performed this valuable role for decades. He is a stalwart of the club. He captained the first XI for many years. He has two sons who have also played for the club. His favourite cricketing memories are captaining Harrogate to several Yorkshire League titles.
Head of Fundraising
Aidan leads the club’s fundraising and sponsor relationships in conjunction with Steve Clark. Aidan is a batsman of very modest abilities who much enjoys playing for the IV team whenever he can. His favourite cricket memory is attending all four days of England’s remarkable Ashes win at Headingley in 2019.
Head of Web / Social Media
I'm Rob, or Stannie to most. Responsible for building/running our website and improving the Club's communication through the newsletter and social channels. I've captained the 3rd team over two separate spells over the past 18 years, and love trying to get the most out of our talented juniors as they climb up through the Club. My favourite personal memory was scoring 203* against Pateley Bridge, but as a side, getting promotion to Nidderdale Division One last season was a real highlight.
Cath is junior chair of the cricket club and is responsible for looking after our expanding section of 5-18 year olds. Cath enjoys playing women’s softball whenever time allows and much prefers batting! She particularly enjoys Friday nights at HCC and seeing all the kids and parents happy faces after a long week!
Head of Women's & Girls' Cricket
Nat Crossland is responsible for overseeing Women and Girls cricket. She was introduced to cricket by her Dad at a young age, accompanying him to Yorkshire games and to watch local Cricket matches in North Leeds. Her favourite cricket memories include watching T20s at Yorkshire with her family, watching & celebrating at Harrogate CC when England won the World Cup and supporting Barney & Ted playing for Harrogate CC.
James is the Treasurer for Harrogate Cricket Club. He oversees the financial management of the club on behalf of the Board. James also opens the bowling for the second team and bowls useful away swing at a lively pace. James has many fond cricketing memories. One of his favourite was watching Hashim Amla score a triple hundred at The Oval.
Head of Grounds & Maintenance
Andy is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and development of the ground. He is a passionate sportsman with a strong interest in cricket and rugby. Andy’s son Matthew has a been a mainstay of the junior and now senior teams at the club for a number of years.
Director of Cricket
Mark is responsible for overseeing all aspects of cricket at the club. He is in charge of devising the strategy and overseeing the planning for all forms of cricket. Mark also plays for the third XI. He is a talented batsman. Both his sons, Matt and Scott, play for the club. His favourite cricketing memory is winning the league with the third team in 2019.
Child Welfare Officer
Rob supports the club's profile and fundraising activities, with his main focus being our annual dinner and, when the time is right, the launch of our 100 Club "The HCC Hundred." Rob played for our 2nd and 3rd X1 for 12 seasons and was a left arm bowler (and an absolute No 11 batsman!) His highlights were helping the 2nd X1 win promotion to the 1st Division of the York Senior League and a league promotion and Barrett Cup double with the Strays X1 in 2015. However, he views the heart and soul of this great club as resting with the people and the great friendships which are built around the playing and social side of HCC.
