Harrogate CC is delighted to announce the signing of Jack Shutt, as our domestic professional, for the 2024 Season.
Jack has represented Yorkshire CCC across all formats. An off-spin bowler, Jack's bowling average in List A cricket is 29.13 and in T20 cricket it is 20.43. His career best of 5-11 came against Durham in the T20 Blast.
Mark Roberts, the Club's Director of Cricket, has said: "Jack is a quality cricketer: his record speaks for itself. It is a sign of the progress the club has been making that he has chosen to sign for us. It would not be a surprise if a County was to come in for him, but we see that as a positive. Jack is ambitious and we believe that his professionalism, as well as his quality, will help set high standards in our senior teams. Jack fits the profile of the person we wanted to sign and we are extremely confident that he will add significant value to the club - both on the pitch for our 1st XI and off the pitch for the rest of the club."
1st XI captain Will Bates said that: "I am confident that Jack is the right fit for Harrogate CC and I am delighted that we have been able to secure him. The 1st XI has made significant progress over the last couple of seasons, but signing Jack is another significant step forward. As well as helping the side reach its potential, I believe that he can help us to challenge and beat the best sides in the League."
Jack is currently playing cricket in Australia but will be back in the UK for the start of the season. Harrogate CC are looking forward to watching him in action for the club at the Kirbys Solicitors County Ground
